Tourist safety
In general, Tajikistan is a fairly safe country, subject to certain conditions. After dark, it is not recommended to go out alone, especially outside of Dushanbe. At any time of the day, you should not carry large sums of money with you and wear jewelry. You can only drink bottled or boiled water, as the tap water purification system is far from perfect, and the country has a high percentage of cholera cases. For the same reason, it is worth washing fruits and brushing your teeth with bottled water, and in bars and restaurants, ask for drinks without ice.
